Beitos Sprint 2025

When winter sets in, there is one event that marks the start of the ski season in Norway – the Beitosprinten! This weekend, elite skiers, support staff and thousands of spectators gather at Beitostølen to celebrate skiing at its very best.

A weekend of top sports and winter atmosphere

The Beitosprint is not just a competition – it's an experience. The audience gets to see some of the world's best skiers up close, cheer along the slopes and feel the electric atmosphere that only real ski racing can create.

Over the course of three days, the event offers:

• Sprint and distance running in both classic and freestyle

• Para classes for seated and standing athletes

• Combined exercises that test both endurance and flexibility

• Children's Beitosprint , with activities and skiing experiences for the youngest

• Dining and a good atmosphere in heated tents and along the stadium area

Tickets: Sold at the entrance and online (free for children under 16)
Transport: Beitostølen is easily accessible by car or bus from Oslo, Fagernes and nearby towns.
Dress well: November in the mountains can be cold – remember warm clothes, a hat and good winter shoes

Tradition and history

Since the 1980s, the Beitosprinten has been one of the most important season openers in cross-country skiing. The event has grown into a folk festival where athletes, volunteers and the public come together in true volunteer spirit and winter joy. For many, this is the weekend that truly marks the start of the ski circus in Norway.
