Every autumn, people from all over the country flock to Valdres to experience the traditional Rakfisk Festival at Fagernes . For three whole days, the streets are filled with the smell of rakfisk, the sound of live music and the buzz of thousands of happy festival-goers.
The festival offers a bustling nightlife with over 100 exhibitors – here you will find everything from local food, crafts and world-class rakfisk to wool socks, leather pelts and good stories. There are three festival arenas to explore: Storteltet, Lavvoen and Rakfiskteltet, where there are concerts, dining and a great atmosphere all weekend.
In the center you will also find the popular rakfisk trail , where you can stroll between food stalls and sales stands, chat with producers and taste your way to your favorite. The highlight for many is of course the awarding of the rakfisk of the year – an honorary award among the producers and an honor to win.
