Few people have contributed more to the equality of people with disabilities than the founder of Beitostølen Health Sports Center Erling Stordahl, who also started the Ridderennet in 1964. The first Ridderennet was inaugurated by King Olav and had the Armed Forces as a partner.
The Knights' Race has evolved and today hosts several events for people with disabilities throughout the year. The annual Knights' Week (with the Knights' Race as the highlight); Children's Knights' Week; Knights' Camp and Bike Knights' Camp are held.
Beitostølen is proud to be the meeting place for the world's largest event for the visually and physically impaired. Every year, Beitostølen is occupied by the Norwegian Armed Forces, 450 participants from all over the world, companions, supporters and organizers. Together we create a strong, inclusive community.
